Adoption procedure:
1. When you contact us as a potential adopter, you are first sent an application form to fill out.
2. We then have a short conversation, answer any questions you may have, and schedule a home check. A home check involves one of our members visiting your home, which allows us to meet you in person and see the space which the dog or cat you wish to adopt would be living in.
3. If all the conditions are met, we can arrange for you to meet the dog/cat you wish to adopt or you can take them with you straight away once you have signed the adoption contract.
An important item in the contract is one that concerns castration (i.e. spaying/neutering). Adopters have to agree to spay/neuter the cat/dog in question as soon as the animal reaches sexual maturity. Adult cats and dogs will be arriving to your home already castrated, but if you decide to adopt a kitten or a puppy, having them spayed/neutered becomes your responsibility. All cats and dogs adopted through Šibenik Paws, without exception, have to be spayed/neutered. If you are opposed to castration, we kindly ask you not to contact us as a potential adopter. You may request a sample adoption contract at any time.
